You can surely become an admin. But it is required that you have atleast significant number edits to your name to qualify for adminship. (See ವಿಕಿಪೀಡಿಯ:ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರು). hi rohit, I noticed that you had left a comment on my English wikipedia user page. I'll try to answer for that here. One doesn't need sys-op previleges to edit the main page items. If you haven't observed carefully, many templates make up the main page. Each template is editable. I'll put the links here for your reference. The links appear on the bottom while you view the source.
