Shqiptimi spanjisht:
This template formats IPA transcriptions and links them to WP:IPA for Spanish. The transcription should match the conventions of that key; for narrower dialect transcriptions, use {{IPA-all}}, which links to a more complete IPA key.
The first cell in the template is for the transcription, and a second optional cell is a switch that controls the lede. With no second value, the lede Spanish pronunciation: appears:
{{IPA-es|tu}}
→ Shqiptimi spanjisht: [tu]{{IPA-es|tu|pron}}
→ shqiptimi [tu]{{IPA-es|tu|lang}}
→ Spanjisht: [tu]{{IPA-es|tu|IPA}}
→ IPA: [tu]{{IPA-es|tu|}}
→ [tu]Any of these may be combined with a sound file in an optional third cell:
For the default lede, however, a placeholder such as ‹-› is required in the second cell:

Wiki offers several templates for proper display of IPA transcriptions.
In general, instances of the IPA on a page should be enclosed in the {{IPA}} template, which formats the text in an IPA-compatible font. If a substantial portion of a page is in the IPA, it is customary to post notice of that fact with {{IPA notice|lang=en}}, though each token still requires the {{IPA}} template for proper formatting.
However, if there are not enough occurrences to warrant a notice, then consider a template that links to an IPA key for the first instance of the IPA on a page or section:
{{IPA-fr|o}}
→ shqiptimi frëngjisht: [o]{{IPA-fr|o|pron}}
→ shqiptimi: [o]{{IPA-fr|o|lang}}

Another type of language-specific template allows you to enter ordinary letters (or conventional ASCII equivalents) from a given language for automatic conversion to phonetic symbols. Those currently available are {{IPAc-en}} for English, {{IPAc-hu}} for Hungarian and {{IPAc-pl}} for Polish. For example:
{{IPAc-en|'|s|&|n|d|k|a:|s|@|l}}
→ /ˈsændkɑːsəl/{{IPAc-hu|'|m|a|gy|á|r}}
→ [ˈmɒɟaːr]{{IPAc-pl|'|sz|cz|e|ć|i|n}}
→ [ˈʂt͡ʂɛt͡ɕin]The older inconsistently named (though still operational) templates {{IPA2}} and {{pron}} are deprecated, and are to be no longer used.
Various redirects have been created for languages which do not yet have dedicated templates. Although transcriptions which use these redirects will link to {{IPA-all}} for the time being, the articles will be pre-linked if and when a template is created. The more articles that use one of these redirects, the more likely it is that a dedicated template will be created for them.
