量子力學(英:Quantum mechanics)者,明察毫微之域,知其所以然也。其域猶細於微塵,稱微觀世界,蓋普朗克常數之大小也。此學論以分子、原子、電子、夸克之效,又論各作用力。夫量子之效,經典力學不能解。以量子觀之,萬物皆為質能,並有波粒二性,又有各交互作用,以數學函數示之。
能量者,經典力學以為連續不斷。然微觀之下,則可割分,稱量子。微觀所見,本態有易,莫能確知,惟大概示矣,即測不準原理也。
