Catherine Hickson

Në vitin 2003, Hickson ishte një nga tre shkencëtarët që raportojnë për një shpërthim hipotetik në vullkanin kanadez Mount Cayley. Hickson punon në Amerikën e Jugut ku janë disa nga vullkanet më të mëdha dhe më të larta, përfshirë ato në Argjentinë, Bolivi,Kili dhe Peru. Ajo ishte krijuesi dhe udhëheqësi i Projektit Shumëkombësh të Andeve. Projekti u zhvillua nga viti 1996-2002, me Argjentinën, Bolivinë, Kili dhe Peru, duke u bashkëfinancuar nga Agjencia Kanadeze për Zhvillim Ndërkombëtar dhe vendet pjesëmarrëse. Në vitin 2002 filloi një projekt të dytë që u përqendrua në vullkanet, tërmetet dhe rrëshqitjet e tokës dhe u zgjerua për të përfshirë Ekuadorin, Kolumbinë dhe Venezuelën. Ai përfundoi në vitin 2006.
