Khersons’ka oblast’; referred tae as Khersonshchyna – Ukrainian: Херсонщина an aw) is an oblast (province) in soothren Ukraine, juist north o Crimea. Its admeenistrative center is Kherson. The aurie o the region is 29000 km², its population (as o 1 Mey 2004) is 1.12 million.
