Scotland Act 1998
The Scotland Act 1998 (1998 c.
46) is an Act o the Pairlament o the Unitit Kinrick. It is the Act which established the devolved Scots Pairlament, followin the 1997 Scots devolution referendum.

The Act haes the rules fir running the pairlament an the ceevil service, the executive, noo kent as the Scots Govrenment, which haes a First Meenister an ither meenisters, appointit bi the Queen, wi the approval o the Scots Pairlament, includin the Lord Advocate and the Solicitor General fir Scotland. It spells oot the pouers o the parliament, nae bi exponin whit it can legislate oan but bi exponin the 'reserved' pouers o the Pairlament o the Unitit Kinrick. It wis passed in the Hoose o Lairds oan 17 November 1998, an royal assent on 19 November 1998.
The first elections unner the new Act wir held in May 1999, an the first pairlament syne 1707 wis called on 1 July 1999, wi Donald Dewar, as the first First Meenister.
