The Scotland Act 1998 (1998 c.

It spells oot the pouers o the parliament, nae bi exponin whit it can legislate oan but bi exponin the 'reserved' pouers o the Pairlament o the Unitit Kinrick. It wis passed in the Hoose o Lairds oan 17 November 1998, an royal assent on 19 November 1998.
The first elections unner the new Act wir held in May 1999, an the first pairlament syne 1707 wis called on 1 July 1999, wi Donald Dewar, as the first First Meenister.
