Place name evidence suggests Cumbric speakers mey hae carried it intae ither pairts o Northren Ingland as migrants frae its core area further north. It mey hae been spoken as far sooth as the Yorkshire Dales an aa. Maist linguists believe that it becam extinct in the 12t century, efter the incorporation o the semi-independent Kinrick o Strathclyde intae the Kinrick o Scotland.
