Hariprasad Chaurasia: Indian bansuri player

Hariprasad Chaurasia (born 1 July 1938) is an Indian music director and classical flautist.

He plays the flute, in the Hindustani classical tradition. Chaurasia was born in Allahabad, United Provinces, British India. He was known for being part of the duo Shiv–Hari with Shivkumar Sharma. His career began in 1957. Some of the best known music he composed for movies were Faasle (1985), Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991), and Darr (1993).
