Re-creation of Dalmatians (ethnic group)

If you haven't noticed, please see Wiki: Articles for deletion/Dalmatians (ethnic group).

To appeal a deletion, follow the proper procedures described at Wiki: Deletion review.

Thanks. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:05, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

I don't believe these are pertinent questions because they imply that the ethnic group as described had actually existed - which can't be the case, what with all the seven hundred thousand Chileans and whatnot. You can read up on e.g. the Diet of Dalmatia or Dalmatian language or Dalmatae. Those topics are researched, but not necessarily contiguous - unlike that deleted article that seemed to be purely based on conjecture that framed things in a nice new way... For example, few other than Tuone Udaina had spoken the language in the mid 19th century, but that didn't mean that the Autonomist Party was any less active at that very time. These kinds of "declarations of ethnicity" have to be verifiable at the very least, and not some sort of original research. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 08:43, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Proposed deletion of Dalhan

Pulaukakatua19

The article Dalhan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please be more careful about marking edits as minor

Please read Help:Minor edit. "A check to the minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous versions. Examples include typographical corrections, formatting and presentational changes, and rearrangements of text without modification of its content." You are marking edits are minor that are clearly anything but. I virtually never mark any edits as minor even if they are just fixing spelling errors. Doug Weller talk 18:11, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Baltic festivals is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wiki's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Deletion discussion about Supernatural beings in Slavic religion

Hello, PulauKakatua19,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Supernatural beings in Slavic religion should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wiki: Articles for deletion/Supernatural beings in Slavic religion .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Notice of cut and past move

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wiki: Requests for history merge. Thank you. Problem with your custom signature

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
    1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
    2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
    3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
    4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
    1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
    2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
    3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wiki: Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wiki talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Neo-völkisch and universal

I reverted your recent categorisations of neopagan groups, I hope you don't take offense. Both these terms are vague and not in general use by scholars who study the movements.

The page about neo-völkisch movements was turned into a disambiguation page a while back after discussions on the talk page. In short, the term was used by one scholar, Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke, as a short-hand for a number of different movements in the United States, most of which were not neopagan at all, and it hasn't really been picked up by other scholars after him. The American term "folkish" is even more tricky and hardly a synonym of "neo-völkisch". And then there is the SPLC which has its own definition, different from Goodrick-Clarke's in that it only refers to pagan groups.

"Universal" is also problematic; it has at least in the past been used as a self-designation by some groups, although these things change rapidly due to trends. I think it's currently somewhat untrendy and terms such as "inclusive" are used instead - but that might also have changed and something else might have taken over. "Universalist" when it comes to religions can mean several things, for example a uniform liturgy, which may be why it has become less popular among neopagans. When scholars classify neopagan groups by politics they often create their own classification systems, so I don't think there is a good way to categorise them on Wikipedia at this point, at least not by using terms that aren't already part of a category tree. Again, I hope you don't take this personally. It's a difficult area when it comes to both terminology and delineation. Ffranc (talk) 13:47, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

I want to apologise to you again because I am very ignorant about that. I wanted to help people identify which neopagan groups have extreme/racist views (to be avoided), and which neopagan groups oppose them to support minorities. We don't know which may be the appropriate terms for the two sides, and I am sorry if this caused any trouble. PulauKakatua19 (talk) 13:53, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
No problem. I've tried to do this myself in the past, but couldn't figure out a way that really worked. It's not so simple that there are two camps that can be easily categorised. The academic study of these groups is still somewhat rudimentary and we might just have to wait until it improves. Ffranc (talk) 13:58, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

https://www.duhoctrungquoc.vn/wiki/index.php?lang=en&q=Malaysian_Islamic_Party&oldid=1053371583

Here is the problem I've edited 3 topics of Ideology, Controversy whit assisted contribution by many members but has been taken down by this User:Amir Noor Muhammad. I repeatedly told the user that if he has any arguments of this topic the user can talk to me about it but the user didn't just not talk to me about it and removed large chunks of our contribution of it which i don't think is fair for the people who had place an effort contribution to the new section of the page. Also adding to the fact that he had many Controversy on this talk page where the many user had criticize him for similar behaviour like that which you may check right over here: User talk:Amir Noor Muhammad.
Also the user had written to ban me from editing with his recent revert. The reason that the user always revert my edit is that "it's not related" "personal not on party lines" which i then replied to him stating that " so long as they are part of the party their political action is related to the party" but the user still insist on reverting.
Hope you understand that i don't mind to be wrong but i would like your best judgment on what you can do to resolve this matter because those topics are with valid links and valid facts. Thank you.
hope to hear frm you soon do talk to me if you do want to know more. User talk:Francabicon

I support your edits. We should report this user for being very disruptive.

The (Sur)real World of Any Malu moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, The (Sur)real World of Any Malu, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 15:57, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Omniglot

Hi PulauKakatua19! Sorry that I had to revert your edits to Gayo language, but as explained in the edit summary, Omniglot is not a reliable source. Their sourcing is often not clear, and they do not give full credit in cases where it is obvious where their data is taken from. In the case of Gayo, there is an open-access book mentioned in the reference section, which contains the necessary data if you want to add something about the sound system and spelling of Gayo. –Austronesier (talk) 10:07, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

We're cross-posting lol. Let's continue here or on my page, up to you. –Austronesier (talk) 10:11, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I didn't expect that you would be so nice to explain about the reverts, so I posted at your talk page. PulauKakatua19 (talk) 10:22, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

No worries! You have mentioned Unicode, which is a definitely better source for this kind of data. Omniglot is an amateur project, their data is generally good and I don't think people get misinformed there. So as place for looking up things about languages for private interest, the man behind omniglot does a fine job. But it's not the standard for WP sources, especially since reliable (academic) sources are available for almost all languages covered in the site. –Austronesier (talk) 10:37, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Völkisch movement > Modern usage

I see that on the Völkisch movement page you added a Globalize template to the Modern usage section in December 2021 but did not add a reason for doing so. Please add the reason for the use of the template on the talk page. Myotus (talk) 18:27, 18 May 2022 (UTC)

I have added my response here. I am sorry that I did not explain why earlier.

This entry is based on a Twitter message? Really? That's not a source. Don't you have anything better? And perhaps you can repair the cite journal template whereyou have entered here... Calle Cool (talk) 22:39, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
