King Richard is a 2021 American biographical drama movie directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and written by Zach Baylin.
It is about the life of Richard Williams, the father and coach of famed tennis players Venus and Serena Williams. It stars Will Smith in the lead role, Aunjanue Ellis, Saniyya Sidney, Demi Singleton, Tony Goldwyn, and Jon Bernthal.
It was released on November 19, 2021, by Warner Bros. Pictures and on the HBO Max streaming service on the same day. The movie had strong positive reviews. It was named one of the best films of 2021 by the American Film Institute.
