Garret Hobart: Vice president of the United States from 1897 to 1899

Garret Augustus Hobart (June 3, 1844 – November 21, 1899) was the 24th vice president of the United States from 1897 until his death in 1899.

He was the sixth vice president to die in office. Before becoming vice president, Hobart was a well-known New Jersey businessman and politicial operative.
