Fajr: First prayer of the day in Islam, occurring before sunrise

The Fajr (Arabic: فجر) prayer is the first of the five daily prayers (salat) recited by practising Muslims.

Muslims believe that "He who performs the dawn prayer (fajr) will be under the protection of Allah." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith# 657
