Sir Dirk Bogarde (born Derek Niven van den Bogaerde; 28 March 1921 – 8 May 1999) was a British actor and writer.
Bogarde was born in West Hampstead, London. He starred in many movies, including Victim, The Servant, Darling, Accident and Death in Venice.
Bogarde wrote novels, autobiographies and memoirs.
Bogarde was a closeted homosexual who lived with his partner Anthony Forwood (1915-1988) for nearly forty years until Forwood's death. Bogarde died of a heart attack in Chelsea, London.
