Bergen County is a county in the U.S.
State">U.S. State of New Jersey. It is rich and has more people living in it than other counties in New Jersey. As of the 2020 census, it had 955,732 people. It is part of the New York metropolitan area. The county is the one of the last remaining counties in the nation where shops are closed on Sundays because of "blue laws." In compliance to the blue laws, nearly all retail stores in Bergen County are closed on Sundays.
