Bellerophon: Hero of Greek mythology

Bellerophon (Greek:  Βελλεροφῶν; gen.

Βελλεροφόντης) is a hero of Greek mythology. The son of Poseidon and the mortal woman Eurynome (wife of King Glaucus of Corinth), he was "the greatest hero and slayer of monsters, alongside Cadmus and Perseus, before the days of Heracles". Bellerophon was famed for having tamed the flying Pegasus, who aided him in his greatest feat - killing the Chimera, a monster with a lion's head, the body of a goat, and a serpent's tail.
