Banu Hashim: Clan of the Quraysh tribe

The Banū Hāshim (Arabic: بنو هاشم) is an Arab clan within the Quraysh.

The this clan to which Muḥammad belonged was named after Muḥammad's great-grandfather Hāshim ibn ʿAbd Manāf.
