Richard Llewellyn: British novelist
Richard Dafydd Vivian Llewellyn Lloyd or Richard Herbert Vivian Lloyd (8 December 1906 – 30 November 1983) was a British writer.
He is best known for his 1939 novel How Green Was My Valley. It was later made into a movie that was nominated for ten Academy Awards, winning four. The movie also famously beat Citizen Kane to the Best Picture. It also won Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Supporting Actor.
Llewellyn was born in Hendon or Willesden, England. His claim of being born in St Davids, west Wales, was proven false after his death. However, his parents were Welsh. He died in Dublin on 30 November 1983 at the age of 76.
