Fidel Eddie Valdez Ramos (March 18, 1928 – July 31, 2022), popularly known as FVR, was a Filipino politician.
He was the twelfth President of the Philippines from 1992 to 1998. He played an important role in removing Ferdinand Marcos from power. Ramos was also a general. During his time as president, he helped make the economy strong.

Before becoming president, he was in the cabinet of President Corazon Aquino. He was the chief-of-staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and later as Secretary of National Defense from 1986 to 1991.
He helped create the Philippine Army's Special Forces and the Philippine National Police Special Action Force.
Ramos died on July 31, 2022 at a hospital in Makati, Philippines from problems caused by COVID-19, aged 94.
