• Wiki: Naming policy poll is created to determine how geographic articles should be named (more common name or official name) opens. Please vote there.
• Work on a standardized format for a new series of year by year listings of world leaders is taking place at Talk:Incumbents by year.
• New article series on weapons of mass destruction is located at Mediawiki:WMD.
• Slashdot: Three articles have been slashdotted - Frame-dragging [1], EPR paradox [2] and parthenogenesis [3]
• Quickpolls: A quickpoll takes place regarding an edit war at Saddam Hussein. The quickpolls process itself comes up for a 30-day review.
• Vote for the list of links proposal: A vote on whether Votes for deletion should be a list of links.
• Webby Awards: Wikipedia is nominated in the categories Community and Best Practices. Wikipedians can cast their "People's Voice" vote (see also Wiki talk:Webby Awards).
• Nohat, Roozbeh, Stevenj, UninvitedCompany, Ww and Zero0000 become administrators. Congratulations!
• Danny has been nominated for the Wiki: Mediation Committee. Please add your vote there.

Arbitration committee

• Arbitration committee matters continuing this week: Wik2 and Anthony DiPierro (regarding his behaviour on VfD).
• Three new cases are accepted this week: Mav v. 168 (which had previously seemed too old an issue to arbitrate on), JRR Trollkien, to determine if sysops currently have the right to ban obvious trolls, and Paul Vogel, an anonymous user who apparently has continued to edit while banned.
• Anthony DiPierro's case is nearing completion, with arbitrators voting on their findings of fact and decree.

• Images: Use of noncommercial-only images prohibited, changes proposed for the Image upload page, Requiring sources and the Berne Convention. MediaWiki talk:Uploadtext.
• Can the Mennonite Historical Society of Canada use Wikipedia for their own purposes? Would this create WalledGarden and NPOV issues?
• The Wayback Machine hasn't indexed Wikipedia for a long time. Is robots.txt or user-agent checking keeping them away or is this policy to leave so long between updates?
