Thanks for uploading File:Windows Phone 8 StartScreen.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wiki English. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Image dispute on Silicon Valley article

Hi EndlessCoffee54,
Hope all is well! I don't know if you remember me (we "met" when you invited me to the Bay Area discussion on core cities), but I was wondering if you would be interested in participating in an ongoing dispute on Silicon Valley. I generally spend a lot of time trying to find the best images for an article (it's one of the more leisurely edits I enjoy doing on Wiki) and have come into a dispute with an editor on the Silicon Valley page. I have inserted images in the infobox (along with throughout the page) to represent San Jose and other places in the valley with good, representations of important landmarks and places, to which an editor continues to revert my images. Most notably, I inserted a proper image of SJ's skyline into the infobox to represent the city, to which the other editor insists removing and instead represents SJ with a nondescript, completely unremarkable image of light up palm trees. I might be on a limb here, but having seen the passion you had on the Bay Area article for defending a good representation for the South Bay/San Jose, I figured you might be able to help me do that on this article in regards to images. Best regards, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 20:24, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

Ongoing discussion on Talk:Silicon Valley

Hi EndlessCoffee54! I am reaching out because there is an important ongoing discussion at Talk:Silicon Valley#RfC: Inclusion criteria of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara Valley and Santa Clara County, California concerning whether Silicon Valley is a region or not and whether it should be regarded as such both in its article and in references to it across Wiki English. I invite you to join the discussion and present your thoughts on the matter, as more opinions are sorely needed to build anytime of understanding or consensus. Best, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 16:31, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

April 2023

Endlesscoffee54  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on San Jose, California. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Stop emphasizing Silicon Valley so much! It's a violation of WP:NPOV, and you keep restoring shitty sources that don't support your text. Binksternet (talk) 01:56, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

Per WP:QUO, disputed material stays as-is until a resolution is reach on the talk page. Since you are the one suggesting these changes, it's your prerogative to place it on the talk page. EndlessCoffee54 (talk) 02:00, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

Endlesscoffee54  Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wiki: Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 04:23, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest

Endlesscoffee54  Hello, EndlessCoffee54. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page San Jose, California, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wiki Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wiki: Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 02:36, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

There is no conflict of interest here. This material has been on the page for years. If it needs a better source, then we can have that, but that doesn't merit a revert, instead a citation notice on the article suffices. EndlessCoffee54 (talk) 02:39, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
To be clear: you are saying you do not have a conflict of interest. Correct? Drmies (talk) 01:36, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
Endlesscoffee54
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Daniel Case (talk) 20:20, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
