timeline Windows

This timeline overflows outside the right side of the screen and users need to scroll to see it.

Suggestion for layout change: Rotate 90 degrees

Isn't it better if this timeline was vertical instead of horizontal, that way, nothing would have overflown outside. What I mean is: Is it technically possible? Fleet Command (talk) 19:40, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Merging all similar versions

I think we should merge all product versions having the same release/support dates. This includes Server 2000, Server 2003, Server 2003 R2, Vista, Server 2008 (without Foundation), 7, Server 2008 R2 and Multipoint Server 2011. This would free up lots of space and wouldn't remove any useful information. Lonaowna (talk) 12:04, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Hmm…

What about Windows 1.0 to 3.0? Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 07:00, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Timestamp

Why does it say "Updated" followed by the current date? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of writing a date there if it's always the same? And it's also wrong, because that is not the date when it was last updated. Fabian42 (talk) 17:08, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

Future plan: Split the timeline into two

Hi. This IP user suggests if it is possible for anyone to publish another timeline which displays all versions of Windows which were released since 2015 to date. The reason for this suggestion is because as time goes by, we had to insert new versions to the current timeline and, thus, we had to regularly increase the value of $height in order to prevent the timeline from being squeezed in the future. There is one problem, however; the value of $height is limited and thus we may have to consider dividing the timeline by creating a new separate timeline, after some time, perhaps with the title Template:Timeline Windows NT 10.0 (which also includes Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and future Server releases). Even Windows 11 has the same NT number as Windows 10, which is NT 10.0. On the other hand, this current timeline would no longer be in development as the last operating system would be on this timeline is Phone 8.1 and the end date for this timeline would rather be the last day of December, 2023. 197.0.185.237 (talk) 19:19, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
