2010 Nfc East Standings

They are not eliminated from the wild card. It's true, as a previous editor pointed out, if they end up in a tie at 8-8 with the Eagles and Packers, they would be out based on their loss to the Packers. However, if another team from a different division also finishes at 8-8, the Cowboys could still get in:

1. The Cowboys win out; Packers and Eagles both lose out; Bucs win exactly 1 of their last 4; all 4 finish 8-8 and one of them is going to get the #6 seed
2. The Giants win the NFC East at 10-6 or better (with assumed wins over Eagles and Packers)
3. 1st tiebreaker is intra-division between Cowboys and Eagles; Cowboys win with 2-0 sweep
4. Next we settle the 3-way tie between Cowboys, Packers, and Bucs. The Bucs didn't play either of the other 2, so head-to-head does not apply. All 3 would have a 6-6 conference record. Yes, the Packers did beat the Cowboys, which is why--if there were a tie at 8-8 between the Cowboys, Eagles, and Packers--the Cowboys would lose out to the Packers. That's just what I already said above. The small chance the Cowboys do have is for another team (from the South or West division) to also finish 8-8, which would give us the steps I outlined above.
