While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner.

Basic usage

An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{WikiProject Film}} project banner on its talk page:

FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class film articles) wikiproject Film/Doc FA

  • listas – a sortkey to produce a correct ordering of pages within a category, e.g. for The Fifth Element set |listas=Fifth Element, The
  • needs-image - set |needs-image=yes if the article needs an image, such as a poster or on-set photo
  • needs-infobox – set |needs-infobox=yes if the article needs an infobox, e.g. {{Infobox film}}
