1881, Governor Thomas James Churchill responded by sending the Arkansas civil militia, the Quapaw Guards, to march into Perryville and secure the courthouse. The guards were there for three weeks, doing little more than lounging in the halls of the courthouse and congregating on the courthouse lawn.

Arkansas Militia in Reconstruction → Arkansas militias during Reconstruction – The current title is senseless and confused. This article (and the events) involve multiple militias that formed and were sometimes forcibly disbanded, and multiple militias operating against each other, with a variety of different names. The structure of the title is also ambiguous, and seems to suggest "the present Arkansas Militia (i.e. National Guard) being reconstructed". Potentially even more WP:PRECISE titles could be created, e.g. "Conflicts between militias in Arkansas during the Reconstruction era", but I think the proposed title better fits WP:CONCISE, is WP:NATURAL, and is precise and recognizable enough. Maybe "Arkansas militias during the Reconstruction", if people really like to put "the" in front of it, but I note that the majority of our articles on this era (e.g. "History of [state name]") have sections that use "Reconstruction" not "the Reconstruction", so that's a WP:CONSISTENT issue. PS: This entire article was a stylistic train wreck; I've done a top-to-bottom cleanup pass on it. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 10:49, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
