Le Morne-Rouge

Le Morne-Rouge (French pronunciation: ; Martinican Creole: Mònwouj) is a commune and town in the French overseas department and island of Martinique.

Geography

Le Morne-Rouge is the wettest town of Martinique, It is situated on a plateau between Mount Pelée and the massive of the Carbet Mountains.

Climate

Le Morne-Rouge has a tropical rainforest climate (Köppen climate classification Af). The average annual temperature in Le Morne-Rouge is 24.3 °C (75.7 °F). The average annual rainfall is 4,683.0 mm (184.37 in) with November as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in August, at around 25.5 °C (77.9 °F), and lowest in February, at around 22.7 °C (72.9 °F).
