Premise
Max Brandel, a stand-up comedian living with his father, Stan, struggles to co-parent his autistic son Ezra with his ex-wife, Jenna. When faced with difficult decisions about their son’s future, Max and Ezra set out on a cross-country road trip.

Production
The film was originally announced in May 2022, under the title Inappropriate Behavior. Principal photography occurred in Westwood, New Jersey and Jersey City in September 2022.
Release
Ezra had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2023. In November 2023, Bleecker Street acquired distribution rights to the film. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on May 31, 2024.
Reception
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 77% of 13 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.2/10. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 56 out of 100, based on 7 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.
