明太子(明太子/めんたいこ mentaiko)係阿拉斯加鱈嘅魚子(包埋卵巢組織)經過加工醃製而整成嘅嘢食,好多時都會落辣椒粉辟腥,所以通常都帶些少辣味。因為朝鮮將阿拉斯加鱈叫「明太」(명태 myeongtae),傳到日本後,呢隻魚嘅魚子就自然叫「明太子」。明太子主要喺日本菜用得多,既可以就咁食,又可以夾落飯糰食,亦可以做調味,味道辛辣。
