鑭,化學元素也,符號為La,原子序五十七。屬稀土金屬,亦有歸過渡金屬。可延;柔軟,以至小刀可割;色澤銀白,遇氧而暗。自鑭迄鑥,凡元素十五,俱稱鑭系,蓋性相近故也。常見氧化態為正三。庶幾無毒,或可抗菌。
諸稀土金屬,若鑭、鈰等,常並存。一八三九年,瑞典化學家莫桑德(Carl Gustav Mosander),始知其雜於硝酸鈰。惟難於提取,至一九二三年方成。
稀土金屬中,其量頗豐。地殼諸元素,位次第二十八,三倍於鉛。鑭系元素中,亦四有其一。
所用甚廣,觸媒、玻璃添加、碳弧燈、火熠、閃爍器等等,不一而足。腎衰竭病患,亦有服碳酸鑭者,作磷結合劑,以治高血磷症。
