Nieuw-Guinea
Nieuw-Guinea is 'n eiland die dêel uutmakt van Oceanië, in 't westn van de Stilln Oceoan.
't Is achter Groenland 't grotste eiland ter weireld met 'n ippervlak van 785.753 km². 't Eiland wordt van Australië geschèid deur de zêestroate Torres die 150 kilometer brêed is, alhoewel dat de twêe landmassa's ip 't zelfste continentoal plat liggn.
In 't westn en 't ôostn zyn der nog vele klèindere eilandn. De westelikn helft van 't eiland makt dêel uut van Indonesië en omvat de provinsjes Papoea en West-Papoea. Den ôostelikn helft vormt 't grotste dêel van den oenofhankelike stoat Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea. De grotste steedn ip 't eiland zyn Jayapura (hoofdstad van Papoea, Indonesië) en Port Moresby (hoofdstad van Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea).
