Summary[edit]

Description Letter from Qubilai Qa'an(「大蒙古國皇帝」 =the Emperor of Yeke Mongol Ulus) to "the King of Japan"(「日本國王」＝天皇, the Emperor of Japan), 8th Month, 1266. The picture shows a copy from 1268. Original is 25.5 cm high and 39.4 cm wide. Contained in 『調伏異朝怨敵抄』　the "records about the subjugation of foreign states through buddhist virtues" (?), Todai-ji temple, Nara, Japan
