Description

Đa Phước, An Phú, An Giang (près de Chau Doc). Les maisons flottantes sur le Bassac servent de lieu d'habitation et de lieu d'élevage des poissons-chats asiatiques (Panga), les nasses sont situées sous la maison flottante.

La région d'An Giang produit 20% de la production piscicole du Vietnam. C'est la principale ressource de la région.

Les filets de poissons sont préparés, puis congelés et écoulés à l'étranger à un prix compétitif. Toutefois, on peut s'interroger sur la qualité de cette production exposée à la pollution du fleuve qui va en s'amplifiant au cours des années.

Au Vietnam, l'élevage de poissons est plus rémunérateur que la riziculture et s'est fortement développé ces dernières décennies au détriment des campagnes.
