Johann Daniel Herz (auch Hertz) war Zeichner, Kupferstecher und Verleger in seiner Heimatstadt Augsburg. Er arbeitete an zahlreichen Werken und Stichfolgen mit, am bekanntesten wurde die "Neue Reitkunst" von Johann Elias Ridinger. Unter seinem Namen und als Verlag brachte Herz zahlreiche Ornamentstiche, Heiligenbilder, Landschaften und Porträts heraus, stach Ansichten von niederösterreichischen Klöstern und in den Jahren von 1730 bis 1740 nach Aufnahmen von Franz Sebastian Rosenstingl eine Folge der österreichischen Servitenklöster. Herz starb in Augsburg.
