Historiografia E Shkencës
Historiografia e shkencës është studimi i historisë dhe metodologjisë së disiplinës shkencore të historisë, e njohur si historia e shkencës, përfshirë këtu edhe aspektet dhe praktikat përkatëse si janë metodat, teoritë, drejtimet si dhe studimin e zhvillimit të saj historik, e që, dmth., historia e disiplinës e quajtur historia e shkencës.

Meqenëse debatet historiografike në lidhje me metodën e duhur për studimin e historisë së shkencës ndonjëherë janë të vështira për t'u përcaktuar nga polemikat historike në lidhje me vetë rrjedhën e shkencës, shpesh (dhe me të drejtë) ndodh që polemikat e hershme të këtij lloji të konsiderohen edhe si fillimi i disiplinës shkencore në fjalë. Për shembull, diskutime të tilla përshkojnë shkrimet historike të historianit dhe filozofit të madh të shkencës William Whewell. Prandaj, ai shpesh (dhe me të drejtë) shihet si pionier i kësaj disipline; përfshirë këtu edhe të tjerë si p.sh. Pierre Duhem dhe Alexandre Koyré.
Sa i përket paraqitjes së qartë të historiografisë së shkencës, ajo datohet zakonisht në fillim të viteve gjashtëdhjetë të shekullit XX. Kështu, për shembull, në vitin 1965, Gerd Buchdahl thekson mes tjerash "Një Revolucion në Historiografinë e Shkencës" duke iu referuar studimeve inovative të Thomas Kuhn dhe Joseph Agassi. Ai sugjeroi që të dy këta studiues kishin përuruar disiplinën shkencore të njohur si historiografia e shkencës, madje duke bërë dallimin e qartë midis historisë së shkencës dhe historiografisë së shkencës, ata kishin argumentuar se pikëpamjet historiografike ndikojnë shumë në shkrimin e historisë së shkencës.
Studimet nga fusha e historisë së shkencës kanë pasur efekte të mëdha si në filozofinë e shkencës, e poashtu edhe në historiografinë e shkencës, e madje edhe në konceptimet e rolit të shkencës në shoqëri dhe politikën shkencore.
Disiplina në fjalë sot përfshin një larmi fushash interdisiplinare të studimit akademik, duke filluar nga ato tradicionale të historisë, sociologjisë dhe filozofisë, bashkë me një varg fushash të tjera si ligji, arkitektura dhe letërsia.
