The National Post is a Canadian newspaper.
The paper is the main publication of Postmedia Network. It is published Mondays through Saturdays, with Monday released as a digital e-edition only. It was founded in 1998 by Conrad Black. It used to be sent throughout Canada, however, it later began publishing a daily edition in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia, with only its weekend edition available in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Conrad Black designed the National Post to be similar to the Financial Post, a financial newspaper in Toronto. The newspaper was launched in October 27. which was retained as the name of the new newspaper's business section.[source?]
The Post was unable to remain popular due to problems with money in the early 2000s. It was bought in 2001 by CanWest Global, which also owned the Global Television Network.
