Subplot: Secondary strand of a narrative plot that is a side story for any story or the main plot

A subplot, sometimes called a B story or a C story, is a secondary plot that sometimes has to do with the main story.

Subplots may connect to main plots, in either time and place. Subplots often involve supporting characters, those besides the protagonist or antagonist.
