Robert Moog: Electronic music pioneer and inventor from the United States (1934-2005)

Robert Arthur Moog (/ˈmoʊɡ/ MOHG; May 23, 1934 – August 21, 2005) was an American engineer.

He was born in New York City. He was known for his works with electronic music. He was the founder of Moog Music and the inventor of the first commercial synthesizer, the Moog synthesizer.

Moog died in Asheville, North Carolina on August 21, 2005 from glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer, aged 71.
