Pronunciation: Way a word or a language is spoken

Pronunciation is a way a word is usually spoken.

It can be affected by many different factors:

  1. Geographical location or dialect
  2. Presence of speech defect
  3. Ethnic group
  4. Education level
  5. Social class

Mispronunciation is an actual mistake in speaking. It is not used for how a speaker of a dialect pronounces a word. Examples occur in many place names and personal names. For instance, Leicester Square is actually pronounced like "Lester Square".
