Kitakami, Iwate: City in Iwate Prefecture, Japan

Kitakami city is in the southwest of Iwate prefecture on the main island of Japan.

Kitakami has a population of more than 93,000. The city is famous for the sakura that bloom in Tenshochi Park, which is regarded as one of the hundred best places in Japan to view cherry blossoms.
