Jacquard Loom: Weaving loom controlled by punched cards

The Jacquard loom is a mechanical loom.

It is used to make patterns in clothing material. It was invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard, and first used in 1801. It simplified the process of making textiles with complex patterns.
