Joe Newton: American Athletics Coach (1929-2017)

Joe Newton (1929 – December 9, 2017) was an American high school cross country and track coach.

He was a coach at York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois. He coached for over fifty years. He won 28 Illinois state cross country titles and one track state title. A documentary, The Long Green Line, about his life and career was made.
