Ice Pellets: Precipitation of transparent, spherical or irregular particles of ice

Ice pellets are known as sleet in North America, and hail in Great Britain.

They are a type of frozen precipitation, little balls of ice. Large ice pellets are called hailstones. Sometimes, ice pellets bounce when they hit the ground.
