Gunnel Vallquist: Swedish writer and translator, member of the Swedish Academy (1918-2016)

Gunnel Vallquist (19 June 1918 – 11 January 2016) was a Swedish writer and translator.

She became a member of the Swedish Academy in 1982. She wrote over twenty books. She also translated In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust from French into Swedish. She was born in Stockholm.
