Gegharkunik is a province of Armenia.
Its capital is Gavar. Gegharkunik was named after Gegham. Gegham was a Haykazuni King and the fifth generation after Hayk. Geghama mountains and Geghama lake, now called Lake Sevan, were named after Gegham.

Gegharkunik Province is in the east of Armenia. It borders Azerbaijan. It is the largest province in Armenia. Much of the land is covered by Lake Sevan. There are 5 towns and 87 rural communities.
