Damar Romeyelle Hamlin (born March 24, 1998) is an American football player.

He plays as a safety for the Buffalo Bills.

Early life

He grew up in McKess Rocks, Pennsylvania. He studied at Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He played basketball and football.

Hamlin went to the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. He played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers.

NFL career

The Buffalo Bills chose Hamlin to play with them in the 2021 NFL draft. He became a safety in 2022.

On January 2, 2023, during a game Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals, Hamlin collapsed after tackling Tee Higgins. He was given CPR for 10 minutes. An ambulance took him to University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center. He had gone into cardiac arrest.

The NFL suspended the game. At 10 p.m., the game was postponed (delayed).
