• 1985 - Bernhard Langer becomes the first German golfer to win the US Masters at Augusta, Georgia, United States.
• 1986 – 1 kilogram hailstones fall in the Gopalganj district of Bangladesh, killing 92 people. They are the heaviest hailstones ever recorded.
• 1999 – Sydney, Australia is hit by a severe hailstorm.
