Anthony G. Brown: United States Representative from Maryland from 2017 to 2023

Anthony Gregory Brown (born November 21, 1961) is an American lawyer and politician who is the Attorney General of Maryland since 2023.

He was the U.S. Representative for Maryland's 4th congressional district from 2017 to 2023. He was the eighth Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, from 2007 to 2015.

In 2014, Brown ran unsuccessfully for governor, losing to Republican Larry Hogan.

In October 2021, Brown announced that he will not run for reelection to the House in 2022 because he will run for Maryland Attorney General. He won the Democratic primary on July 19, 2022. He defeated Republican lawyer Michael Peroutka in the general election on November 8, 2022, becoming Maryland's first Black attorney general.
