Aden: Port city and temporary capital of Yemen

Aden (Arabic: عدن ʿAdan) is a port city in Yemen.

It is at the Red Sea (the Gulf of Aden). About 800,000 people live there. Aden was controlled by the British Empire from 1839 to 1967.
