Español: En Uruguay, hay Carnaval durante todo el año. El mismo se manifiesta de diferentes maneras, con diferentes enfoques a lo largo de todo el año. Participan murgas, comparsas, revistas, parodistas, humoristas y muchos otros tipos de artistas diferentes. Una vez al año, se realiza un encuentro internacional de murgas de mujeres y mujeres murguistas, en donde se intercambian saberes, experiencias y se problematiza el rol de la mujer en el ámbito de la murga, un lugar históricamente dominado por varones. Esta es una fotografía de la murga Chilena de estilo uruguayo llamada La Corre y Vuela, actuando en el Teatro de Verano de Montevideo, Uruguay, en el marco del Encuentro de Murgas de Mujeres y Mujeres Murguistas.
English: In Uruguay, there is carnival all around the year. It manifests in different ways, with different approaches throughout the year. Murgas, comparsas, revues, parodists, comedians and many other different types of artists participate. Once a year, an international meeting of women murgas and women murguistas takes place, where know-how and experiences are exchanged and the role of women in the murga, a place historically dominated by men, is discussed. This is a photograph of the Uruguayan-style Chilean murga called La Corre y Vuela, performing at the Teatro de Verano in Montevideo, Uruguay, as part of the Encuentro de Murgas de Mujeres y Mujeres Murguistas.

В нём принимают участие бродячие труппы музыкантов («мургас»), маскарадные группы, театральные обозреватели, пародисты, комики и многие другие артисты. Раз в год проводится международная встреча женщин-мургас; происходит обмен знаниями и опытом, обсуждается роль женщин в этой творческой сфере, где традиционно преобладали мужчины. На данной фотографии представлена чилийская мурга, одетая и загримированная в уругвайском стиле под названием «Беги и лети». Она выступает в Летнем театре Монтевидео в ходе встречи женщин-мургас.
