English: The Koopmans-de Wet House is a historic residence in Strand Street, Cape Town. It was originally built in 1701 and the current facade dates from about 1780. Marie Koopmans-de Wet (1834 - 1906), a prominent Capetownian gave her name to the house. The house became part of the South African Museum in 1913 and was declared a National Monument in 1940.
Afrikaans: Die Koopmans-de Wet-huis is 'n historiese woning in Strandstraat, Kaapstad. Dit is oorspronklik in 1701 gebou en die huidige fasade dateer uit ongeveer 1780. Marie Koopmans-de Wet (1834 - 1906), 'n prominente Kapenaar gee haar naam aan die huis. Die huis word in 1913 'n gedeelte van die Suid-Afrikaanse Museum en is in 1940 is dit nasionalemonument verklaar.
