You don't speak Irish? The Irish language (Gaeilge) is in the Goidelic branch of the Celtic languages. It is mainly spoken in the island of Ireland. Some speakers also live in Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia, and dispersed throughout the world. It is the first official language of the Republic of Ireland, with English as second. Irish is also recognised officially in the European Union, and in Northern Ireland, a region of the United Kingdom.
